2026 Dive Season Overview

Ben Franklin Swim Club is the proud home to champion swim and dive teams for children 5 to 18 years old.  We continue to show great success and participation within the Princeton Area Swimming and Diving Association (PASDA).  Healthy, summer fun swim balanced with solid skills development and competitive spirit shape our approach. Teams are populated by age and skill levels of swimmers and all swimmers will be afforded every opportunity to participate.

All families are expected to register in advance of start of first practice. Non-members as well as members of Ben Franklin Pool are welcome and encouraged to participate, but no swimmers will be allowed to practice until they are registered and the work bond is paid.

  • Paid Employees (guards, assistant coaches) of BFSC are not subject to fees

SUMMER SCHEDULE

Practice Schedule

From May 26th until 23rd, after-school 

      • 6th Grade & Below – 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
      • 7th Grade & Up – 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM

From June 25th thru July 24th morning practices

      • 10 & Under – 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM
      • 11 & Over – 8:45 AM to 10:00 AM
    • Dates and times subject to change
    • Swimmers under 10 MUST have an adult caretaker present during all practices and meets

Mandatory parent orientation meeting will be held May 27th

  • 5:30-6pm will provide detail on parent service roles and expectations, class, practice and competition policies, safety and more.
  • Required Work Bond checks in the amount of $100 will be due at that time. (See below for Work Bond fulfillment & return.)
  • Opportunities to volunteer will be shared at orientation meeting, and volunteer slots will be open for registering online as soon as the meets schedule has been set. 

NOTE: Parents are required to volunteer for at least three meets in fulfillment/for return of work bond.  

Work Bond checks of $100 are to be submitted no later than parent orientation meeting on May 27th. No swimmer nor diver will participate in practice nor competitions until Work Bond check has been submitted. Those families who will have fulfilled all three meet volunteering obligations will have the Bond check destroyed unless otherwise requested in advance.  Meets are staffed by parent volunteers so, without them, the team – and your child – suffers. Thanks for volunteering above and beyond whenever possible, and help us get more adults involved!

Competition Dates

  • Will be posted in May, once PASDA has met to formally schedule.
  • Meets are held at Ben Franklin and other local area swim clubs.
  • You can expect five regular meets, likely occurring on Mondays and Wednesdays early evening for divers through the month of July.
    • Meets are structured by age categories of 8 & under, 10 & under, 12 & Under, 13 and Over.
  • In case of stormy weather, dates are rescheduled as close to original date as possible.
  • The BFSC Dive Invitational will be held at BFSC on June 27th. All divers are eligible to compete in this optional meet. Additional fees do apply for this meet.
  • PASDA Championships are expected to occur July 22nd and 23rd, early morning through early afternoon.
    • Championship days are typically divided by age groups. 
      • Tentatively July 22nd: 18 & Under, 14 & Under, 6 & Under; July 23rd 10 & Under Girls & 10 & Under Boys
      • Championships are held at Community Park Pool in Princeton
    • Divers are required to participate in at least three meets to be eligible for championships.

NOTE: Champs charges additional fee per event to participate. These fees are paid as Champs registration begins, late in the season. 

JUNIOR DOLPHINS

For those comfortable being in the water and are able to safely swim independently to the side of the pool, but who are not yet comfortable with jumping off the diving board. The Junior Dolphins program trains these youngsters to safely and confidently begin learning different jumps and dives and may lead to participation in dive meets, pending Coaches’ evaluation. In 2026, Junior Dolphins swim June 25th thru July 24th.
